In today’s cardmaking tutorial, I’m creating an elegant spring card featuring the Stampin’ Up! HOT FOIL SYSTEM and showing how beautifully Gold and Silver Foil can work together on one project!
I’m combining the Flourish & Frames Hot Foil Dies and Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies with the beautiful Springtime Scenes Bundle and Berry Botanical Vellum 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Hot foil is far too pretty to waste! — During the tutorial, I share a special tip for conserving your Hot Foil Rolls and getting more use from your foil. Small changes in the way you prepare your foil can make a big difference—and leave more foil for your next project!
🌸 CARD MEASUREMENT
• Card Base: Basic White Cardstock — 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4″
• Berry Botanical Vellum Specialty DSP: 5-1/4″ x 4″ Layer
• Attach the vellum layer to the card base using two strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive
✨ HOT FOIL DETAILS — For this card, I’m mixing Silver and Gold Hot Foil to create beautiful metallic accents.
The Flourish & Frames Hot Foil Dies add an elegant decorative element, while the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies give the sentiment that crisp, professional-looking metallic finish that makes hot foiling so special.
🌷 FEATURED COLORS — This card has a fresh, colorful spring palette featuring: For the Springtime Scene embellishments, I used coordinating cardstock colors to bring the scene to life:
• Bubble Bath Cardstock
• Fresh Freesia Cardstock
• Strawberry Slush Cardstock
• Hydrangea Hue Cardstock
• Peaceful Pine Cardstock
• Granny Apple Green Cardstock
I love how these cardstock layers echo the DSP palette to make the scene feel cohesive, dimensional, and full of springtime charm. The addition of Gold and Silver Foil gives the finished card just the right amount of shine!
🌿 SPRINGTIME SCENES + BERRY BOTANICAL VELLUM
The Springtime Scenes Bundle provides the beautiful spring-inspired flowers and greenery DIES as an accent, built using the coordinating cardstock colors listed above, while the Berry Botanical Vellum 12″ x 12″ Specialty Designer Series Paper creates a soft, translucent background. The colors just POP!
Vellum is such an easy way to add another layer to a card — Berry Botanical designs add just enough pattern and interest to complement the foiled elements.
💙 SENTIMENT DETAIL — The sentiment is stamped in Blueberry Bushel Ink, adding a bold, rich contrast that grounds the design and makes the greeting stand out beautifully against the soft spring palette and shimmering foil.
