BEST OF SHOW at NM State Fair: Create a Spooky Haunted Mansion with the Stampin’ Up! Haunted Home Kit!

My project won a BEST OF SHOW ribbon in the New Mexico State Fair for 2024!

I was immediately inspired to dive into the Stampin’ Up! Haunted Home Kit and transform it into a truly spooky haunted mansion just in time for Halloween! Don’t let the intricate details intimidate you—this project is easier than it looks. The key is to follow the steps, but also make it your own. Add personal touches to create a piece that’s uniquely yours. Remember, it’s not about perfection, but about having fun!

This project creatively combines Stampin’ Up! products with Ranger Distress products, offering a unique blend of styles and effects. I’ve listed all the Stampin’ Up! products that are available on my online store below and also offer a detailed Project PDF.

For those essential Tim Holtz products like inks and stains, Amazon is typically your best option. If you’re on the hunt for those hard-to-find items, Scrapbook.com is a reliable alternative. Also, don’t forget to pick up a Sponge Applicator from Ranger—it’s ideal for smoothly blending the DISTRESS Oxide inks and achieving that eerie, atmospheric look.

I recommend a visit to your local craft store to gather inspiration. While you may come across some Ranger products, the selection can be hit or miss, so keep your options open. You’ll find a variety of seasonal items that can add incredible depth and character to your haunted mansion. The challenge is often in choosing just the right pieces!

I used the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder to create the texture on my Haunted Mansion and a little help from Micheal’s, Hobby Lobby and AMAZON for spooky embellishments. Let me demonstrate how to build a mansard roof from cardstock!

Light up the inside and add spooky silhouettes for more fun! With the help of DISTRESS Oxide Inks and Spray Stains I was able to create a creepy look for both facades and roof.
