Do you love creating unique backgrounds? Well, here are a couple of techniques featuring the gorgeous Mercury Glass Designer Acetate.
This is another project challenge from the “25 Products from Under $25 List Gift Ideas”. I loved the tranquil scenes from the SNOW FRONT stamp set and the trees from BASIC PATTERN Mask. I wanted to create a project using these backgrounds as settings for the realistic animal images from NATURE’S BEAUTY stamp set. Tell me what you think!
The serene illusion of a snow-covered background was created by using the tree pattern from the Basic Pattern Mask using Embossing Paste on acetate. The contrast between the shiny glimmer of the silver acetate and the matt white tree shapes is stunning. The pattern on the silver acetate looks like a blizzard!
I stamped the realistic animal images with Memento Black Ink and colored them with Stampin’Blends. I stamped a page of images, colored them and then cut them out using my SCAN-N-CUT machine for a great result.

Softly Falling Snow Scene
The secret to stamping perfectly on acetate is the STAMPARATUS. Use a STAMPARATUS to stamp the tree backgrounds with STAZON ink on the Mercury Glass Acetate. The silver pattern from the acetate evokes snow softly falling.

Very beautiful and ‘calming’ scenery epicted in your card. Can I ask where you used the Snow Front stamp set on either of the cards? I see the Nature’s Beauty stamps in use on the fox card and the the deer, I know, is from Nature’s, but I don’t see where the other stamp set is used. Thanks for sharing.
Did you watch the video? If it’s still not clear…feel free to email me and I’ll give you a call to explain! Kat
Thank you for sharing! Beautiful cards! Wish you’d shown how to use the scan n cut a bit. I own one but am too scared of it to use it. Goofy, I know. I’ve been wanting to see someone using the acetate and glad I got to see the cards. You are very talented.
Good idea…I will feature a segment on this soon. Thank you for the feedback.
