If you love coloring as much as I do, you’re going to fall for the Mixed Florals Bundle—an Online Exclusive from Stampin’ Up! that’s perfect for creating elegant, hand-colored florals with loads of personality. I was inspired by the Mixed Media Florals Memories & More Card Pack.
This project is all about making your line art shine with bold Stampin’ Blends colors, creating an eye-catching contrast with sleek die-cut layers. I’ll walk you through how I used some of my favorite techniques to bring this floral card to life.
🌼 Let’s Talk Stamps
The Mixed Florals Bundle features beautifully detailed line art flowers and leaves that practically beg to be colored. I started by stamping a few floral arrangements in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Basic White cardstock. This ink plays well with alcohol markers and ensures crisp lines that won’t smudge when you start blending.
🎨 Coloring Magic with Stampin’ Blends
Here’s the color palette I used:
Poppy Parade – a bold, happy red that adds instant drama. Use for the tulips and Lady Bugs.
Daffodil Delight – bright, cheerful, and the perfect sunny pop for the Daisies.
Boho Blue – soft and soothing, for balancing the delicate tiny blooms.
Old Olive – a timeless green that grounds the bouquet. Add some Daffodil Delight for a highlight
Crumb Cake – subtle and earthy, ideal for stems and around the tiny Lady Bugs.
Each flower was shaded by starting with the lighter shade and blending out by adding the darker tone. I like to color one petal at a time.
đź–‹ Background Love: Elements of Text
To give the card some visual depth without overpowering the florals, I used the Elements of Text as a background stamp with Basic Beige ink. This adds just the right amount of interest while keeping the spotlight on your main images.
Pro tip: Stamp off once for a softer impression that doesn’t compete with your focal point!
đź–¤ Contrast with Die-Cuts
Once the florals were colored and die cut, I brought in some structure and contrast using the Textured Notes Dies. These dies are fantastic for layering and frame-building.
I layered Textured Notes die cuts for a bold contrast that made the florals pop even more. The white layers add dimension, while the black adds that modern edge.
đź’Ś Finishing Touches
I mounted everything onto a Basic White card base and kept any simple sentiment for the inside. This is a great Mother’s Day Card.
🌟 Final Thoughts
The Mixed Florals Bundle is a dream for anyone who enjoys coloring—and paired with the rich tones of Stampin’ Blends and subtle touches like the Elements of Text stamp, you can easily create cards that look like a mini work of art.
